I am thrilled to announce that Todd Strait and I are hosting an exclusive house concert featuring legendary session pianist, prolific composer and arranger Bill Mays on Tuesday, November 14.

Mays’ career as a professional musician spans the last 60 years and includes a multitude of musical endeavors such as 4 years as a bandsman in the US Navy, 15 years as a session player in Hollywood studios before relocating to NYC and firmly establishing himself as an in-demand sideman and leader of his own ensembles.

A legendary session pianist whose extensive work list includes 40 albums under his own name, hundreds of TV and Film credits and collaborations with vocal luminaries too expansive to list here including: Ernestine Anderson, Andrea Boccelli, June Christy, Rosemary Clooney, Natalie Cole, Kurt Elling, Ella Fitzgerald, Benny Golson, Shirley Horn, Peggy Lee, Kevin Mahogany, Shelly Manne, Helen Merrill, Red Mitchell, Mark Murphy, Gerry Mulligan, Anita O’Day, Annie Ross, Bud Shank, Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, and Vangaurd Jazz Orchestra, Sarah Vaughan and Phil Woods.

His numerous recordings as a leader (solo, duo, trio and sextet) are well-documented on the Chiaroscuro, Concord, DMP, Palmetto, and Steeplechase record labels.

This particular concert on Tuesday, November 14 is in anticipation of an exciting collaboration that Mays is curating through his own arrangements and compositions created especially for US this Fall.
